STRATEGIC MASTER PLAN FOR THE EXPLOITATION OF DJEBAL RESSAS QUARRY ACTIVITY, DELEGATION OF MORNEG, GOVERNORATE OF BEN AROUS FOR “CARTHAGE CEMENT” COMPANY

Our company « BUT Géologie » has undertaken this project with the aim of developing a strategic master plan to optimize the sustainable and efficient exploitation of the quarry located at Djebel Ressas, delegation of Morneg, Governorate of Ben Arous. This plan is based on a thorough analysis of previous studies, consolidating existing data to define specific objectives, strategic directions, and steps to follow. The goal is to achieve an exploitation in compliance with technical and environmental standards, ensuring efficient and responsible quarry management. This strategic document is of paramount importance in the planning and implementation of the extraction activity, incorporating best practices to preserve the environment while ensuring the company’s profitability.

The main objective of this project is to establish a comprehensive and strategic approach to guarantee an exploitation of the quarry that is both efficient and environmentally friendly.

Definition of Objectives, Strategies, and Means for Efficient and Sustainable Quarry Management: This involves setting clear objectives, appropriate strategies, and the necessary means to ensure optimal and sustainable quarry management, considering both environmental and technical requirements.

Characterization of Deposits through Analysis of Previous Studies and Stages of the Exploitation Process: Utilizing data from previous studies, this step aims to describe and thoroughly understand the characteristics of the deposits. This includes an overview of the exploitation process and the current situation to inform decision-making.

Evaluation of Performance of Crushing, Screening, and Maintenance Facilities: This entails a comprehensive assessment of the performance of crushing and screening facilities, as well as the maintenance park’s ability to keep these equipment in good condition. This evaluation aims to enhance their operational efficiency.

In-Depth Analysis of Technical and Environmental Constraints: This step involves a meticulous analysis of technical and environmental challenges to ensure responsible and sustainable exploitation of the quarry in full compliance with standards and regulations.

Implementation of Internal Procedures, Tracking Sheets, and Dashboards for Efficient Daily Management: The objective is to establish well-defined internal procedures, tracking sheets, and a dashboard to optimize day-to-day operational management, ensuring consistency and transparency in activities.

Financial Viability Study of the Overall Activity and Evaluation of Investments and Costs: This includes a thorough analysis of the costs, investments, and profitability of the entire quarrying activity.
